The 2003 CES graduation Ceremony was held on August 22 and 23
Though the number of graduates was few, the time of fellowship was enriching.
Pastor Ross Holtz of the Summit Church emceed the graduation ceremony.
Early in the ceremony, Dr. Ric Walston delivered a short speech on the history of CES.
Dr. James R. White delivered the commencement speech. Using Second Timothy 2:2 as his starting point, "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others." Dr. White directed the students and faculty to keep in mind that true biblical mentorship is not about building large buildings or libraries, but it is about pouring our lives and biblical knowledge into the lives of others who will likewise teach and help others to grow in the Christian faith.
Later, Dr. Walston spoke again. He discussed unity in diversity as a model for the educational process of CES.
Board of Regent member Michael Buchanan played the piano, lead worship, and sang several special songs for the ceremony.
Beyond the actual ceremony, the participants gathered and fellowshiped on Friday night at a local Italian restaurant and again on Saturday after the graduation ceremony at a Texas-style BBQ restaurant for dinner and fellowship. On both evenings, after dinner, the participants gathered together at Dr. Walston's home for further fellowship.
