Larry Vern Newman, D.Min. - Faculty Mentor
(Church Growth/Renewal, Pastoral Theology, Theology) Dr. Newman was ordained by the Assemblies of God in 1966, and ordained by the Iowa Conference of the United Church of Christ in 1974. He served as Pastor or Interim Pastor in the Assemblies of God and various independent community churches and several congregations of the United Church of Christ. Dr. Newman also served in administrative positions, and taught Pastoral Theology and Apologetics at Open Bible College, Des Moines, IA. He served as Executive Director of Maranatha Ministries, Inc., Kirkland, WA (a parachurch organization involved in Teaching, Youth, and Radio ministries). He is listed in the Dictionary of International Biography, Cambridge, England, Who's Who in Religion, and Personalities of the West and Midwest. He is a member of the Society for Pentecostal Studies. Dr. Newman earned a B.A. (Theology) from Northwest University, Kirkland, WA., an M.Div. (Church History) from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary, Dubuque, IA., and a D.Min.
