Coffee Talk Introduction

Hello. My name is Rick Walston (aka, Josh Walston, Ric Walston), and I am the president of CES.

From time to time I write letters to my students, and we sometimes get into dialogs about the letters' contents. I call my letters Coffee Talk.

Coffee Talk (CT) letters address various topics that come to mind, and are topics that I want to discuss with my students.

The CTs have been very well received, and from time to time people who are not my students have enjoyed the CTs as well, and many have asked that I send them copies. So, I have uploaded my CTs for all to see on the CES website.

If you enjoy these CTs, please email me and let me know. If you would like to be informed as to when this page is updated with new CTs, just email me and I will do my best to inform you. Or, you can also simply check this page from time to time. Email me at: CES @ ColumbiaSeminary.edu

If you find mistakes in grammar, spelling, etc., in my CTs, please remember this: "Most people try to hide their mistakes . . . I publish mine." (Borrowed, and slighted edited, from Chuck Dean)

Why Coffee?

Someone asked me the other day why I call these letters Coffee Talks . . . well, put simply, I generally write them when I have time to sit and enjoy a cup of joe . . . actually, I am most satisfied with a latté, but coffee in any form is my "daily vitamin."

Years ago, I was not a big coffee drinker, but one of my friends, Tom, was. My wife and I were on vacation when I came across a wonderful t-shirt that I bought for him. On the front of the shirt is said, "INSTANT HUMAN: JUST ADD COFFEE."

Well, since then I have come to understand that concept.

Disclaimer

My CTs do not necessarily represent CES. My CTs are my own thoughts. Representations of CES come from official statements by the Board of Regents and do not come from any single person, not even the President of CES. So, if there is something (or some things) that you have issue with in my writings, please (1) realize that my comments are my own and that they do not represent CES in any official capacity and (2) direct your comments about those issues to me personally at CES @ ColumbiaSeminary.edu.
